Hello and welcome to this first newsletter.
We are all very excited here at Ostara because at long last the website is up and running, albeit with quite a few changes and additions still to be made. The e-mail addresses need to be added and such like things and as I am not very computer literate this may take a little while - although it is mainly going to be Anita who is running the site, and she is much more used to computers than I am.
Please be patient with us as it will take time to photograph all our crystals, and upload them onto the site, but the wait will be well worth it we assure you. As new stock is arriving all the time, we hope that you will have an everchanging selection to browse from and to buy.
A large selection of new stock arrived a few days ago, and we are busy photographing all the new crystals and getting them ready for the website. You won't be disappointed as there are some stunning pieces, including a lovely silver sheen obsidian sphere and some amber with insects - well worth the wait.
The Purrsonnel are settling well into their new roles, although yesterday they had a very nasty scare. Sam, Bramwell and Tanith were sitting in the back garden and thinking that it was starting to look rather overcast and perhaps they should come back in when suddenly, from out of nowhere, a bolt of lightning came down and exploded right in the middle of the patio, scattering the poor cats in all directions!
None of them was hurt, thank goodness, but I can tell you that there were three very scared cats, with Tanith deciding afterwards that the best form of defence was attack, and hissing at everyone in sight when she eventually came out of hiding.
We thought that we had lost Hari in the incident as we couldn't find him anywhere, but he eventually appeared, bleary eyed and looking a bit stunned, as we had woken him up from a very nice sleep in an old box he had found. It turned out that he had slept through the whole episode, including all the neighbours running into the street to see where the bolt had hit.
I was just about to go outside when it hit, a second earlier and I would have been in the line of fire. As it was, I got a spectacular view of the whole thing.
Anita had put on her Thor's Hammer pendant for the first time for a while that day, and said afterwards that she could do without that sort of calling card from the gods.
We had also just been photographing and pricing up some lovely 'witches finger' quartz pieces, which are apparently supposed to protect against chaotic energy, so who knows, maybe they did just that, and gave us all protection when it was needed.
Anyway, the only thing left to say is, keep tuned in to the site and thank goodness that cats have nine lives.
